Chisinau, 4 September /MOLDPRES/ - Romania is the principal supplier of oil products for Moldova: 96.5 per cent of the imports in petrol and 83.8 per cent of the ones in diesel were made from this country in the first half of 2018. The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) explained this tendency by the presence on the domestic market of oil companies which own refineries in Romania and the small distance which allows importing by road transport at relatively low prices.
A report by ANRE shows that 13.42 per cent of the international imports of diesel come from Russia and 1.39 per cent from Bulgaria. Moldova covers 2.65 per cent of its consumption of petrol with imports from Slovakia and an insignificant quantity from Belarus.
The imports of liquid gas are made from four countries: Russia, Romania, Kazakhstan and Belarus. As for the liquid gas, Russia ranks first with a quota of 72.85 per cent. This tendency is explained by the fact that the selling prices of the liquid gas from Russia are lower; this country is followed by Romania with 18.57 per cent, Kazakhstan with 8.02 per cent and Belarus and 0.57 per cent, ANRE’s data also shows.
In the first half of this year, as much as 257.5 thousand tons of diesel, 80.1 thousand tons of petrol and 34.2 thousand tons of liquid gas were imported on the Moldovan oil products market.
The National Energy Regulatory Agency also said that the average import price of petrol had increased by 12.8 per cent and of diesel – by 10.6 per cent in the first half of 2018.
