Moldovan PM says Government supports development of wine industry, National Vine and Wine Office being trusted partner

Chisinau, 04 September /MOLDPRES/ – The issues and prospects for the development of wine sector, as well as preparations for the National Wine Day (ZNV), which will take place on 07 – 08 October, were discussed today by Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, and Director of the National Vine and Wine Office (ONVV), Gheorghe Arpentin, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The PM called for the full use to be made of the offered possibilities by this important event to promote local winemaking and the image of Moldova as a country producing quality wines.
Pavel Filip mentioned that the Government supports the development of wine industry and the ONVV is a reliable partner in implementing sector reforms and ensuring effective cooperation between state institutions and real sector of economy.
The Director of ONVV informed the Preimier on the results of wine year 2017 – 2018, which shows a considerable valorisation of the Moldovan wine and a diversification of the sales markets. The most important markets are Poland, Romania, Czech Republic and China. The wine industry grew by 15 per cent, with about 63 million bottles sold in 2017.
The ONVV has become a guarantor of competitiveness and quality of Moldovan viticultural products, due to successful implementation of wine promotion programmes under unified brand: Wine of Moldova.
