Fine artist Semion Odainic opens anniversary exhibition at National Museum of History

Chisinau, 5 September /MOLDPRES/- An anniversary exhibition of painter Semion Odainic was opened yesterday at the National History Museum of Moldova, the 80th anniversary.
The exhibition includes works of decorative art, portraits of historical figures carved in gypsum and stone, cast in bronze, state distinctions of the Republic of Moldova, badges and medals.
Secretary of the National Heraldry Commission Nicolae Schicco noted that Semion Odainic is the author of the images of state distinctions of Moldova, approved by the decree of First President Mircea Snegur on 31 July 1992.
For his part, Moldovan heraldist Silviu Tabac said that Semion Odainic is a fine artist who has important achievements in the field of medal art. “The first edition of the State Distinction System in Moldova is due to his artistic vision. He is a founding member of the National Heraldry Commission,” he said.
In this context, Vlad Mischevca, the first head of the National Heraldic Commission, noted that Semion Odainic is a special personality who knows the technique of the entire process - from design to metal casting. Ana Boldureanu, the head of the medieval and numismatic history section of the National History Museum of Moldova, said that Semion Odainic has elaborated the girdle of the Moldovan President and that of Mayor of Chisinau.
He was awarded the honorary title "Master in Art", the Order of Honor and the Order of the Republic.
The exhibition will be open until 11 September.
