Moldovan teachers to benefit from compensation of spending for transport

Chisinau, 5 September /MOLDPRES/ - Teachers will benefit from compensation of spending for transport, if they go the other education institution than the residence one on distances exceeding 2 km, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

To this end, the cabinet today approved a string of amendments to the government’s decision on financing, based on standard cost per one pupil, of primary and secondary general education institutions subordinated to the second-level local public authorities.  

At the same time, the small gymnasiums will not be closed. Thus, the gymnasiums where less than 91 level-headed pupils study will be able to work as branches managed by education institutions with legal status, where a sufficient number of pupils study. This reform will allow rationalizing the costs for maintaining the institutions and turning to good account the resources more efficiently.
