Moldovan teachers to receive by eight per cent higher salaries

Chisinau, 5 September /MOLDPRES/ - The teachers will receive higher salaries starting from 1 September 2018. The cabinet today approved a decision for the fulfillment of the law worked out to this end. Thus, the office salary of the teachers and the scientific and didactic staff from the budgetary education institutions will be indexed by eight per cent, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

The office salary of a rector will grow up to 6,460 lei and of a university professor – up to 4,840 lei. The salary of the university lecturers will increase by 325 lei and the one of lecturers – by 300 lei. The university assistants, trainers and instructors from the higher education will benefit from increased wages as well. The salaries of the employees from the general education and vocational education will be increased according to the same algorithm.   

As much as 130 million lei is provided for in the state budget for this year to make these increases.
