Foreign affairs minister says Moldova interested in deepening political dialogue, bilateral ties with Germany

Chisinau, 05 September /MOLDPRES/ – Moldova is interested in deepening the political dialogue and bilateral relations with Germany, further relying on the support of the Berlin authorities in promoting the European reform agenda of Moldova. The statement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, during a meeting with German State Minister for European Affairs, Michael Roth.
According to the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service, the two officials reviewed the Moldovan – German bilateral cooperation relations, reaffirming their joint commitment to deepening political dialogue and commercial – economic cooperation. In this context, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi appreciated the assistance given by Germany to Moldova in the process of transforming and modernising Moldova, implementing the European development agenda, and maintaining Moldova on the list of beneficiary countries. At the same time, the head of the Moldovan diplomacy mentioned the importance of developing a vocational training system, oriented towards the business environment, teaching German in educational institutions and preparing technical level specialists.
Tudor Ulianovschi and Michael Roth discussed international cooperation, multilateral collaboration, regional security and other issues of mutual interest. The head of the Moldovan diplomacy expressed gratitude to the German Government for the support given to Moldova in the process of European integration, promotion and implementation of the modernisation objectives, according to the provisions of the Moldova – EU Association Agreement.
At his turn, the German Minister confirmed the interest of Germany in further supporting Moldova in implementing the reform agenda, especially supporting economic and social development. Also, Michael Roth encouraged the Chisinau authorities to continue the process of political and social – economic reforms in order to bring Moldova closer to European standards.
