Over 20 localities disconnected from electricity after heavy rains

Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/- A number of 22 localities in nine districts had been disconnected from electricity after heavy rains.

Liliana Puşcaşu, the press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, said that three localities from Taraclia and Gagauzia were disconnected from the electricity today.

“The rains have severely affected the villages of Cairaclia and Novosiolovca in Taraclia district, where firefighters carried out pumping works from several households. In Cantemir, Lingura, the rainfall has deteriorated about two kilometers of road, and two bridges have been damaged in the village of Câşla. The heavy rainfall affected another 10 km of the local road in Tartaul village of the same district, and in the localities of Doina, Lopatica and Moscovei, Cahul district, the firefighters intervened to pump water from several households," she said.

The Emergency Commissions are working in areas affected by bad weather.
