Law on attracting investments in film productions sector to be published in Moldova's Official Journal

Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/ - The decree on promulgation and the law on the attraction of investments in the sector of production of films and other audiovisual works will be published in the 7 September issue of Moldova’s Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).
The new document regulates the conditions and procedures of providing financial support in investments, as well as the record and reporting the use of budgetary allocations in the field of productions of films and other audiovisual works.
The value of the financial support for the productions of films and other audiovisual works accounts for 25 per cent of all expenses eligible carried out in Moldova, to which five per cent can be added, on condition of topic-related promotion of the geographical zone, settlement or country in productions. At the same time, the new regulations see a list of expenditures which cannot be regarded as eligible.
Producers, co-producers of films and other audiovisual works or agencies of film productions, which are private people or legal entities registered in Moldova, which have a contract on cooperation signed with a producer or production house from abroad, can be beneficiaries of budgetary allocations for productions of films and other audiovisual works. At the same time, the beneficiaries of investments are obliged to provide a minimum investment, depending on the production category.
The following production categories can benefit from financial support: full-length and short feature films; full-length and short cartoons, serials, documentaries, advertising spots, musical clips, TV programmes/shows, reality show.
