Seven foreign citizens suspected of connections with Islamist group expelled from Moldova - Intelligence and Security Service

Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/ - Seven foreign citizens suspected of having connections with an Islamist group today were declared undesirable by the competent bodies and expelled from Moldova.
According to the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS), the actions of those seven foreign citizens have been subjected to monitoring for a while and “after the existence of the risk to Moldova’s security had been confirmed, the decision was taken for these people to immediately leave the country’s territory.”
According to the Service, the SIS Anti-terrorist Centre was involved in a comprehensive operation in terms of preventing threats against the national security, held concomitantly in more Moldovan settlements today morning.
SIS specified that it had cooperated with the special services from other states in this case.
According to the information appeared in mass media, those seven expelled citizens are Turks and are members of the administration of the Chisinau-based Orizont lyceum.
