Chisinau hosts forum of business people from Moldova, Belarus

Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/ - A forum of business people from Moldova and Belarus was held in Chisinau today. Attending the event were representatives of 25 companies in the agro-food, transport and logistics sectors.
President of Moldova’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Sergiu Harea has said that such actions contributed to boosting the trade between the two states. According to Harea, Moldova’s foreign trade with Belarus increased by about ten per cent in 2017.
A representative of the Embassy of Belarus in Chisinau, Svetlana Katkova, said that such forums were very important, as they allow economic agents better know each other and establish eventual cooperation sectors. Katkova noted that, at present, stake was put on the development of big projects in such fields as trade, roads’ construction and agriculture.
Bilateral meetings were also held at the forum, which gave enterprises from the two states possibility to set business relations and partnerships.
Ninety one enterprises with Belarusian capital work in Moldova. According to the National Statistics Bureau, Moldova’s foreign trade with Belarus stood at 224.67 million dollars in 2017. Belarus is among the first ten commercial partners of Moldova.
