Moldovan electoral body participates in 27th issue of annual conference of Association of European Election Officials

Chisinau, 6 September /MOLDPRES/ - The management of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) participates in the 27th issue of the annual conference of the Association of European Election Officials (ACEEEO), held in Vilnius, Lithuania, on 5-7 September.
According to CEC’s press service, at ACEEEO, the electoral body is represented by its president Alina Russu and CEC member Iurie Ciocan.
About 150 international civil servants and experts in electoral matters, as well as representatives of prestigious competent international institutions participate in the conference titled, Guaranteeing confidentiality, security and integrity of elections.
The event’s agenda includes plenary sessions and roundtables, within which the participants will discuss the best practices concerning the cyber security in organizing and holding polls, integrity of the elections, tightening the security of the procedures of exercising the vote, especially dangers which can appear in the electoral process.
At the conference, the CEC president will make a presentation on strengthening trust and integrity of elections through civic education and information campaigns.
The Central Electoral Commission of Moldova has been ACEEEO institutional member since 1998, and starting from September 2013, CEC has been member of the institution’s executive committee.
