Chisinau, 10 September /MOLDPRES/- About 16 km of heat pipes have been rehabilitated in the capital this year, double compared to the previous year. Thus, 23 sections of thermal networks have been upgraded in the last four months and 13 other sections are to be rehabilitated by mid-October.
According to Termoelectrica company, initially the Investment Plan for 2018 provided for the rehabilitation of 13 km of thermal pipelines, and then it was decided to supplement it with another three km: "In addition to the upgrades we have done so far, we will rehabilitate six sections of heating systems with modern and energy efficient pipes. These upgrades will reduce the risk of damage, reduce technological losses, connect new consumers and increase the efficiency of the heating system," director-general of Termoelectrica company Veaceslav Eni said.
Termoelectrica said it had identified alternative solutions for the supply of domestic hot water to consumers during the works, "and disconnections could only be made in exceptional cases and for short periods of time."
