Moldova's foreign trade to have more records in 2018 - economic expert says

Chisinau, 10 September /MOLDPRES/- Moldova's foreign trade will register more records this year, for the first time exports will exceed 3 billion dollars and imports 6 billion dollars, according to economist Veaceslav Ionita.

According to the expert, for the first time exports of goods to the EU market will exceed 2 billion dollars and exports to Romania will exceed the level of 750 million dollars, the largest volume ever exported by Moldova to a country.

Exports recorded increase of over one billion dollars over the last three years. In fact, they increased in 2017-2018, Ionita said. This increase of 55% is provided by three countries: Romania, Italy and Germany.

Excluding Italy, Germany, Poland and Turkey, exports to Romania have increased more than in the rest of the countries, the economist concludes.
