Chisinau, 11 September /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu today laid flowers to the United States Embassy in Moldova in memory of the victims of the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001.
Candu said that in order to counteract phenomena such as terrorist attacks, understanding, compassion, solidarity and mobilization of all forces are needed. "On this day of September every time we remember what happened in the USA, namely the terrorist attacks. By this act we do every year, we try to prove that Moldovan citizens are with US citizens and all those who have suffered,” he said.
Filip noted that “terrorist acts are the most abominable crimes that may exist, because you cannot really understand the origin and purpose." According to the prime minister, the 2001 terrorist attack has changed the perception of humanity about terrorism and, as a result, the whole world has mobilized because "only through joint effort such crimes can be countered,” he said.
