Moldovan speaker laid flowers at US Embassy in memory of victims of 11 September terrorist attacks

Chisinau, 11 September /MOLDPRES/- Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu, along with Prime Minister Pavel Filip, laid flowers at the United States Embassy in memory of the victims of the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
“The terrorist attacks in the United States have had a global impact. It is a phenomenon experienced by many states, unfortunately there are still many victims of terrorists in the world and compassion, understanding, solidarity and mobilization is required to counter this phenomenon. Every year we come here to be with US citizens and all those who have suffered," Candu said.
The attacks of 11 September 2001 were claimed by Al Qaeda group. On the morning of 11 September, 19 terrorists hijacked four commercial passenger jets. It was the deadliest terrorist attack in US history. In total, 2,993 people, including citizens from 90 countries, died as a result of the attacks.
