Chisinau, 11 September /MOLDPRES/ - The single European currency will cost 19.40 lei on 12 September, maintaining its today’s value, according to the official exchange rates posted by the National Bank of Moldova (BNM).
The U.S. dollars will cheapen by 0.01leu and will cost 16.75 lei. At the same time, the Romanian leu will be by 0.01 leu more expensive, costing 4.19 lei.
The exchange rates of the Ukrainian hryvnia and Russian rouble will remain the same. The latter will cost 0.23 lei and the hryvnia – 0.59 lei.
The official exchange rate represents the price of the Moldovan leu against currencies of other countries. The exchange rate is calculated based on the exchange rates established by the licenced banks in the transactions of sale/purchase of currencies, carried out with their clients and with other banks. Thus, the official exchange rate reflects the relationship between the demand and supply of currencies on Moldova’s currency market.
