Parliamentary committee on foreign policy approves candidacy for post of Moldovan Ambassador to Switzerland

Chisinau, 12 September /MOLDPRES/- Parliamentary committee on foreign policy and European integration examined and approved in today's meeting Oxana Domenti’s candidacy for the post of Moldovan Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
At the same time, the Ambassador will serve as Permanent Representative of the Republic of Moldova to the UN Office in Geneva.
According to the article No10 of the law on diplomatic service, extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors, permanent representatives, envoys and charges d’affaires en titre (permanent) - heads of diplomatic missions - are appointed and recalled by the President of Moldova following the proposal of the government.
Proposals for appointment to these positions are forwarded to the government by Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, in consultation with the parliamentary commission on foreign policy and European integration.
