Protection of air passengers in flight disturbances to improve in Moldova

Chisinau, 12 September /MOLDPRES/ – In case of problems arising during the airplane flight, the passengers will be able to receive assistance directly to the Civil Aviation Authority (AAC).

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved today amendments to the Regulation on compensation and assistance to passengers in the event of refusal to board, cancel or delay flights, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

The document provides for transfer of powers to protect consumer rights in the field of air transport from the Agency for Consumer Protection (APC) to the Civil Aeronautical Authority (AAC). However, it will increase passenger protection referred to air operators, the assistance being provided directly by the institution with functions of control and surveillance within civil aviation.
