Moldovan government approves new measures to discourage corruption in health sector

Chisinau, 12 September /MOLDPRES/ - The government proposes new solutions to prevent and combat corruption in the health sector. The solutions are contained in a sectoral plan of anticorruption measures in the health field and mandatory health insurance for 2018-2020, approved by the cabinet today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The carrying out of the document’s provisions is aimed at discouraging the involvement of medical staff in corruption acts and at developing transparent and integral medical institutions.
In this respect, decision-makers will boost the dialogue with the citizens, in order to encourage them to declare corruption acts in the health system. To better monitor the quality of services provided, an automated system of record of electronic claims (e-claims) will work on the webpages of the medical institutions.
Other actions included in the plan deal with the improving of the access to information and transparency in the decision-making process at the medical institutions, permanent monitoring of the integrity of the institutions from the health system, as well as excluding possibilities of corruption act through promoting the integrity climate among the staff and the meritocracy.
