Chisinau, 12 September /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip, in the beginning of a today’s cabinet meeting, demanded that decision-makers in charge of transports make sure that the soft e-Authorization, through which transport authorizations are to be issued, will be functional in the terms set, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
According to the PM, there is resistance in the system, as the issuance of authorizations through electronic services will reduce the corruption in this sector. “There was much corruption at the distribution of transport authorizations, the so-called CEMTs. We know how much carriers were paying for these CEMTs. So, the soft, the computer is exactly the element which takes no bribe. Obviously, we have much resistance in the system; we have seen this through all reforms promoted by the government. I know that this soft, which was to be enforced back on 1 September, does not run. Mr. Minister Gaburici, I ask you to personally monitor and, on this occasion, I publicly convey a message to the director of the National Motor Transport Agency, Vsevolod Bocsanean: if this sift is not functional on the day established, this will be his last day in office,” Pavel Filip said.
In the context, the PM asked all employees to do their job seriously. “I am sick and tired of meetings and directives. I want each one to do his/her job without being driven on. Only when we have problems which we signal, the work is started. Otherwise, no,” the prime minister noted.
Several amendments to the Code of Road Transports, which regard the issuance of authorizations for transport by electronic means, enter into force starting from 1 September 2018. The reception of applications will be made till late next October and the distribution of authorizations – till 15 December.
