Chisinau, 12 September /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today demanded that Agriculture Minister Liviu Volconovici cancels a decision, under which pupils and students from three hostels of the Agrarian University had faced the situation to go to other hostels, although they had already repaired the chambers where they lived, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

”Mr. Minister, it is the case for you cancel this order and give students possibility to stay where they feel well. I will ask the Control Corps to check the lawfulness of this decision. Do not save money on students, you can find savings in the irrigation systems about which we were speaking yesterday. There are many millions of lei there and we could start more projects with these millions of lei,” the PM said.

Those three hostels were to be provided to a constructions firm, within a public-private partnership. The firm, instead, was supposed to make repairs at the university. “I understand that this is a very good district, a lot of people aspire to this district between the A. Pushkin and Grigore Vieru streets. Yes, it is good for constructions and I believe this would cost a lot of money. Yet, do not worry, as the government will approve no public-private partnership. Nobody will put his hands on this ground,” the prime minister told the agriculture minister.
