Moldovan soldiers participate in Rapid Trident 2018 exercise in Ukraine

Chisinau, 13 September /MOLDPRES/- National Army soldiers participate in multinational exercise "Rapid Trident 2018". They started training at Yavoriv international peacekeeping training center in Lviv region, Ukraine.
According to Major Nicolae Frăsîneac, the contingent commander, the 70 officers and non-commissioned officers of the "Moldova" Brigade and the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion are trained in a multinational company of Ukrainian, Romanian, Bulgarian, American and Polish soldiers, according to a specific scenario for peacekeeping operations.
The Ministry of Defense noted that the soldiers carry out negotiation and mediation missions, missions to command and control points, convoy escort, patrolling, and tactical action in the field.
The Rapid Trident 2018 exercise will end on 15 September and aims to prepare for international peacekeeping missions and increase interoperability among participating states' troops.
The National Army has been participating in this exercise since 2006.
