The first stage of the application process was concluded on 10 September. Most applicants have applied for grants to set up multi-annual plantings, launch bee-keeping businesses, cattle and sheep farming, greenhouse construction.

The applications will be examined by a special commission of the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, and then the money will reach the people who have requested subsidies.

Ciubuc said the authorities are planning to extend the program in the coming years, both by increasing the number of categories of beneficiaries and by increasing the funds allocated for this purpose.

Persons who have failed to submit applications to the first stage will be able to do during the second, due on 17 September.

This year, 45 million lei were allocated for grants in advance to young people and women who develop their agricultural businesses.
