Chisinau, 13 September /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 150 children from the Sipoteni village, central Calarasi district, will go to a new kindergarten, renovated with the support of the Romanian government. At the ceremony of inauguration, Prime Minister Pavel Filip stressed the importance of investments in modern conditions and in children’s safety, emphasizing that the education was a priority for the cabinet, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
„We must all understand that a state does not mean government, parliament and president – a state represents the citizens living in it. And those who do not take care of education make investments in other sectors in vain, as they do not offer future to this country. Children are those for whom the government works and we will continue to make investments in education,” Pavel Filip said.
The PM thanked the government of Romania for the support provided to carry out the project – the pre-school institution from Sipoteni benefited from nine million lei on behalf of the Romanian state. The prime minister gave as a present to the Romanian ambassador a coin issued by the National Bank of Moldova, dedicated to the Centenary of the Great Union with Romania, as a token of gratitude for the constant support provided to Moldova.
„We have chosen to do this union through the projects we have underway. I mean the interconnection of the natural gas system, energy interconnection and I want us to have this infrastructure of education. We should know that, just as we live in one cultural and linguistic area, so we live in one education area as well. I do not want to see difference between our education systems,” the prime minister noted.
For his part, Ambassador of Romania to Moldova Daniel Ionita expressed the Romanian cabinet’s openness for the further support of projects aimed at educating a generation which will bring Moldova to the European Union. Almost 850 kindergartens have been restored within the programme on technical and financial assistance provided by the Romanian government to pre-school institutions from Moldova, with 26 million euros earmarked to this end.
