Chisinau, 13 September /MOLDPRES/ - The sale of meat, eggs and animal products on the EU market will provide an increase of at least 15 per cent in export. Economics and Infrastructure Minister Chiril Gaburici has made statements to this effect at a meeting with producers from the poultry sector.
The participants in the meeting analyzed the progress in the implementation of a roadmap for Moldova getting the right to export fowl and B category eggs.
According to the minister, Moldova can produce and export twice as much fowl than at present. “Once this right got, the poultry sector of Moldova will develop considerably. This is a more difficult process, yet, not impossible. We want us to have access to the EU market next year and to see more native goods on shelves of the shops from there. We must make sure that our goods are qualitative and meet the European standards,” Minister Chiril Gaburici said.
In a press release, the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry noted that, among the conditions Moldova is to fulfill, there are the adjusting of the national legislative framework, reformation of the National Food Safety Agency, ensuring the conformity of the food business operators and reorganization of the laboratories’ system.
Moldova might get the right to export meat and eggs on the European market, after the carrying out of an audit mission by the European Union. Experts from Lithuania today presented the procedure of organizing the country audit to get this right.
