Chisinau, 13 September /MOLDPRES/ - The law on the amendment of the law on disciplinary liability of judges and the Moldovan president’s decree on its promulgation will be published in the 14 September issue of Moldova’s Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).
The law sees, in particular, that the category of disciplinary infringements will include the adoption of a court decision, through which, deliberately or through a serious oversight, people’s rights and freedoms were violated.
The amendments also establish that judges will be able to be dismissed from office, if they commit serious or repeated disciplinary infringements.
Under the document, the disciplinary procedures could be brought against resigned judges for deeds committed while exercising the mandate of judge.
Notifications on the disciplinary infringements submitted to the Superior Council of Magistracy till the entrance into force of the new law will be considered according to the procedures existing at that time.
