282 cases of measles confirmed in Moldova

Chisinau, 14 September /MOLDPRES/- Since the beginning of this year, 282 cases of measles have been confirmed in Moldova. The last case was confirmed in Ceadâr-Lunga district yesterday.

At the same time, three other suspected cases were recorded on 13 September in Glodeni, Tiraspol and Drochia.

According to the National Agency for Public Health (ANSP), a significant increase in the number of diseases was confirmed in August, with 239 confirmed cases.

Throughout the country, there is an orange code on the risk of measles spreading.

ANSP also noted that in 2008-2011 no cases of measles were recorded in our country.

The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that more than 41,000 people got measles during the first six months of this year, and 37 of them died of contracting the virus.
