World Congress of Families began in Chisinau

Chisinau, 14 September /MOLDPRES/- The World Congress of Families began today in Chisinau. Attending the event are over 2,000 people, guests from dozens of states, high-ranking politicians, experts, representatives of religious denominations, civil society and academia.
Opening the event, President Igor Dodon said that it is the first time Chisinau hosts the World Congress of Families. According to Dodon, the family is the most important social institution, and personalities are formed and the experiences of previous generations are transmitted within it.
The head of state added that, unfortunately, the family institution is subject to destruction. Therefore, citizens should change their attitude towards family, Dodon said. He also noted that 2019 will be declared the Year of the Family, by presidential decree.
The World Congress of Families has reached its 12th edition and is under the auspices of the President of Moldova.
