Chisinau, 17 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) has a provisional list of candidates for some districts at the forthcoming parliamentary elections. PDM deputy leader Vlad Cebotari has made statements to this effect in an interview given exclusively to MOLDPRES.
Cebotari noted that the final decisions are to be taken 60 days before the polls. “I recognize that we have a certain lists of candidates. Maybe not in all districts, but we have a certain lists of candidates. Yet, it is a provisional one. We will not take the decisions. The decisions are to be legally taken 60 days ahead of the elections,” Cebotari specified.
The Democrats’ deputy leader also said that the proposals for putting forward potential candidates are to be collected within territorial organizations and PDM representatives works with party members in different settlements, in order to identify leaders enjoying the greatest popularity. ”This should not necessarily be the local party leader. This should be a man who can give that settlement most of all, as he/she comes with a quite difficult mission: he/she will have to fight for the well-being of the community he/she represents,” Cebotari said.
Vlad Cebotari added that Moldova must be led by those who care about this country.
The parliament ruled that the parliamentary polls would take place on 24 February 2019.
