Chisinau, 17 September /MOLDPRES/ - “We have tried to be a partner for the business environment, to stimulate producers and investments, as well as to impose sanctions when needed and we see that we have moved well so far. A 5.2-per cent economic growth means that the economy’s engines work in a quick pace,” Prime Minister Pavel Filip said, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The value of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) stood at more than 44 billion lei in the second quarter of this year. The trade has the biggest contribution to GDP, with 20 per cent, as well as the industrial sector with 15 per cent. The agricultural sector and the construction one have essential contributions as well.
In the first half of 2018, GDP grew by 4.5 per cent against the same period of 2017.
„Although this is a good result in comparison with the countries of the region, we know that we must work several times more, in order to reach the level of other states. It is true that we know what we have to do. The figures do not lie. In 2016, we stabilized the banking sector, in 2017, the economy recovered, in 2018, we edify,” Pavel Filip stressed.
