Moldovan prime minister congratulates Ucrainian people on occasion of National Day

Chisinau, 18 September /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, has participated in the evening of 18 September at the reception organised in Chisinau on the occasion of the National Day of Ukraine. On it, the Premier sent a congratulatory message to the Ukrainian people, and also thanks to the neighbouring state for the continued support given to Moldova, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

"We have gained our independence basically in the same period, and that speaks for itself. We have a liability to have good relations, as it should be for two neighbouring states. And today, I can tell you with all certainty that the relationship between Moldova and Ukraine is at an excellent level," said Pavel Filip.

The PM referred to Moldovan – Ukrainian projects in areas such as infrastructure, environmental protection and energy sector. Especially, it was appreciated the collaboration onto security segment. By joint effort, there has been achieved a historic achievement – for the first time since independence, Moldova can fully control its state border. The PM also expressed gratitude for the support offered to Moldova in the process of settling the Transnistrian conflict, while expressing full support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

"We are very worried about everything that happens in eastern Ukraine, territorial and security issues that Moldova has. We have learnt to show regional solidarity. We have all the confidence in the further development of our relations based on mutual respect," specified PM.
