Liquidation of landslides starts in Cazaclia village

Chisinau, 19 September /MOLDPRES/- Liquidation of landslides began in Cazaclia village, Ceadâr-Lunga district. Thus, the National Ecological Fund (FEN) has earmarked over 1.6 million lei.

According to mayor of the locality Grigori Chior, the works started late, because it was hard to find the contractor to carry out the project. "It's a difficult area, and companies have not really wanted to engage in this work. But after two rounds of auctions, we found the enterprise that meets all requirements, has qualified and competent specialists, has necessary equipment,” he said.

He pointed out that the liquidation of landslides in Cazaclia will be completed in next spring.

The situation in this sector has worsened a few years ago, after which Cazaclia mayoralty and Gagauz government have worked out a project to strengthen the banks and stop sliding processes. FEN has allocated 1.67 million lei to achieve it.

There are six households in Cazaclia in the major risk area.
