Chisinau, 19 September /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan apples will be exported to one of the largest markets in the world - India. The Indian side set the phytosanitary import requirements and in the near future the exporter from Moldova and importer from India will be identified to organize the export of the first sample batch, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

Also, soon the Moldovan apples will be exported to Israel. The first sample batch of 100 kg will be delivered for necessary checks. However, from 1 October fresh plums from Moldova will be exported to Canada.

The identification of the new outlets for Moldovan products has been requested by Prime Minister Pavel Filip. “Emphasis should be placed on exporting high value added products. We need to analyze the barriers to the markets we want to join, to be more insistent, to choose free niches and to make the transition to other interesting markets”, he said.

Fresh fruits and vegetables from Moldova are delivered annually in about 80 countries - for example, Moldovan grapes are exported to 20 states of the world, and plums - in 16 states. Most Moldovan products are currently on the European Union market, with great growth markets in Germany, Italy, Portugal, the Baltic countries, the Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Romania.

The dialogue with several countries with potential for the producers in our country continues in joining Moldovan products to the markets of other regions of the world. Thus, the possibility to export domestic products to Vietnam, Egypt, Qatar, Bangladesh and Indonesia is being examined.
