PM thanks U.S. Ambassador for contribution to developing Moldovan-American relations

Chisinau, 19 September /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip has highly appreciated the work of U.S. Ambassador to Moldova James Pettit, at a farewell meeting held today. The PM stressed that the support of the United States, constantly provided to Moldova, had been felt in diverse sectors and concrete initiatives, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
„I want to thank for the contribution brought to strengthening the Moldovan-American dialogue. We have a friendship relation between our countries – we have always discussed the present problems and I further rely on sincere ties,” Pavel Filip emphasized.
The officials exchanged opinions on priorities of activity and reforms promoted by the government. “We assume, in continuation, the carrying out of the government’s action programme, grounded on the Association Agreement with the European Union, as the only way we have is the European integration,” the prime minister said.
For his part, Ambassador James Pettit thanked for the open dialogue and possibility to be in a permanent contact with the Moldovan cabinet, noting that the United States would further back Moldova’s modernization.
