Foreign affairs minister says Moldova is, to remain committed to implementing agreements signed with EU

Chisinau, 19 September /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova is and will remain committed to implementing the provisions of the agreements signed with the European Union, further relying on EU’s support in the promotion of reforms aimed at improving the Moldovan citizens’ living standards. Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi has made statements to this effect at a meeting with European Commission’s Vice President for the Euro and Social Dialogue, Financial Stability and Capital Markets Valdis Dombrovskis.
According to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service, at the meeting, the two officials reviewed the relations between Moldova and the European Union. The sides also reconfirmed the joint commitment to deepen the Moldova-EU dialogue.
European Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis showed increased interest in the elements of fiscal reform, as well as in recent consultations between Moldova and the International Monetary Fund. At the same time, the EU official expressed his concerns about the invalidation of the local polls in the Chisinau municipality. The high European officials encouraged Moldova’s authorities to provide a good holding of the parliamentary polls in next February and resort to a deep reform of the judicial system.
Minister Tudor Ulianovschi appreciated the assistance provided by the European Union to Moldova in the process of the country’s transformation and modernization, as well as in the implementation of reforms in the regional development, agriculture, vocational education, civil society, police reform, financial and banking sector.
Referring to the macro-financial assistance of the European Union, the Moldovan diplomacy head reiterated the government’s determination to continue implementing the conditions needed for its disbursement.
