China describes Moldova as important cooperation partner

Chisinau, 20 September /MOLDPRES/ - The fructifying of the Moldovan-Chinese bilateral political dialogue may entail new mutually advantageous and sectorally diversified valences, given that Moldova might be included in China’s 16+1 programme meant for the states from the Central and Eastern Europe. Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi has made statements to this effect at a meeting with State Council, Foreign Affairs Minister of China Wang Yi, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service has reported.   

Foreign Affairs Minister of China Wang Yi expressed the Chinese side’s openness for Moldova’s inclusion as third party beneficiary of the 16+1 Chinese governmental programme through the launch of a trilateral regional project in the key sectors of the national economy.

In this respect, Minister Ulianovschi highlighted Moldova’s determination to act at the bilateral level. He explained the economic and diplomatic reasons of Moldova in an eventual format of trilateral cooperation, under the aegis of the 16+1 Chinese programme, meant for the states of the Central and Eastern Europe. At the same time, the Moldovan diplomacy head reiterated the imperative need of Chinese companies’ involvement in the development of roads’ infrastructure, extending the energy networks and ensuring an efficient waste management all over the country.    

The foreign affairs minister of China said that “the Beijing authorities describe Moldova as an important partner of cooperation and are willing to act towards the development and diversification of the Moldovan-Chinese ties, including through Moldova’s integration into the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.

Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi pays a working visit to China on 17-21 September. The Moldovan diplomacy head has scheduled a string of bilateral meetings with Chinese high-ranking officials and will participate in a meeting of the World Economic Forum, held in the Tianjin city.
