Moldovan-Russian economic forum starts in Chisinau

Chisinau, 21 September /MOLDPRES/- The Moldovan-Russian economic forum began in Chisinau. The event, which will end tomorrow, will be attended by about 200 businessmen from the Russian Federation and over 350 from Moldova.

The Moldovan-Russian Economic Forum is an international business event where the current issues of economic cooperation between Moldova and the Russian Federation will be discussed.

In the afternoon today, a plenary meeting – Moldova invites - will be held within the forum, after which several agreements will be signed.

According to the organizers, the event will be held annually, and the 2019 edition will take place in Moscow.

Tomorrow, the participants will go to the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia and then to Orhei, where they will visit the historical and archaeological complex "Orheiul Vechi" and Orhei sub-zone of Balti Free Economic Zone.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, Moldovan exports to the Russian market decreased by 8 percent in the seven months of this year compared to the same period of the previous year, to 127.2 million dollars.
