National Apple Festival, 8th issue, held in Soroca

Chisinau, 23 September /MOLDPRES/- Dozens of agricultural producers and representatives of the business community met today in Soroca to attend the 8th edition of the National Festival of Apple. The event was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment jointly with economic agents in the country and Soroca district council.
The main events on the festival's agenda will take place around the Soroca Fortress, aiming at popularizing and developing the agrarian sector, promoting domestic apple producers, as well as business specializing in modern apple processing and fruit growing materials.
Sales exhibitions, supported by native producers, a traditional dishes fair, a parade of costumes for festival, an exhibition of seedlings were organized for visitors to the festival.
At the same time, the program of the festival provides several culinary contests for the best apple exhibition, handicraft fairs, exhibitions supported by ethnic communities, a children's town with games, animations and a theatrical show.
There are guests from several Romanian counties - Tulcea, Buzău, Vaslui, Suceava, Bacau and Iasi. From Ukraine came representatives from Iampol and Balta, leaders from the administration of the Vinnitsa region, a delegation from Poland, representatives of the Embassies of Romania, the Russian Federation, France, USA, China in Moldova.
Participants in the 8th National Apple Festival were welcomed by Ghenadie Muntean, head of the Soroca district, who mentioned the importance of the event for farmers in the country. "The festival boosted the development of the fruit and vegetable sector. New orchards are being planted, fruit storage refrigerators and apple sorting lines are being developed, the raw material processing industry is being developed. At 100%, the state pays the cost of saplings and partly the costs of building the storage and processing objectives of the fruit. Own investments of economic agents and landowners in this sector increased, "Muntean said.
The festival will end in the evening with a concert by artists from the country.
