Chisinau, 24 September /MOLDPRES/ - The government, following verifications made by the prime minister’s control corps, today cancelled an order by the agriculture, regional development and environment minister on the transmission of agricultural technology units from the public institution, Training Centre in Agriculture’s Mechanization Sector, to the management of three enterprises subordinated to the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the decision by the cabinet of ministers was taken to observe the provisions of the agreement between the Moldovan and Japanese governments, under which Japan provided a grant of technical assistance for a project on improving the centre’s equipment. Under the document, any change to the project needs a preliminary consultation with the cabinet of Japan.
The Training Centre in Agriculture’s Mechanization Sector had signed contracts with another six regional centres, through which agricultural machines were transmitted to regional associations from the Japanese grant and the beneficiaries were to organize free of charge trainings for machines operators.
On 18 June 2018, without assessing the impact of contracts, the agriculture minister instructed to cancel them with the regional centres and to transmit the agricultural machines free of charge to the subordination of the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry.
