Moldovan energy regulator, National Statistics Bureau re-organized in context of central public administration's reform

Chisinau, 24 September /MOLDPRES/ - The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) will absorb the State Energy Inspectorate (IES) and will take over its powers in the sector of state energy supervision. The cabinet today approved a decision to this effect, in the context of the central public administration’s reform, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Thus, ANRE will ensure control over the observance of the norms concerning the technical exploitation and safety of the use of electric equipments. The Agency will also be in charge of the rational use of the electric and thermal energy in all spheres of the national economy.
The Agency’s reorganization fits into the actions undertaken by authorities to cut the number of bodies with duties of control over the entrepreneurial activity. ANRE will be the only control body in the electric energy sector and will have right to employ, by transfer, within the limit of the internal structure, employees of the State Energy Inspectorate.
Also today, the government approved the reorganization of the National Statistics Bureau (BNS). In this respect, the BNS central office is to be reorganized through the merger of subdivisions with homogeneous powers. Also, the information service of financial reports will be reorganized through its liquidation and inclusion into BNS with status of subdivision. The territorial subdivisions for statistics will be reorganized too – those 35 subdivisions will be reorganized into four regional centres for statistics.
The document also provides for the setting up of a training centre in the statistics sector. After reorganization, 702 people will work at the institution.
The State Energy Inspectorate and the National Statistics Bureau have been reorganized within the central public administration’s reform.
