Amendments to Moldova-Turkey agreement on international road transport initialed

Chisinau, 25 September /MOLDPRES/ - A protocol on the amendment of the agreement between the governments of Moldova and Turkey on international road transport was initialed today.
The group of negotiators was led by the state secretary in charge of transports at the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry, Serghei Bucataru.
The amendment of the agreement on international roads transports between Moldova and Turkey is aimed at confirming the process of liberalization of the road transport and at optimizing the Moldovan-Turkish cooperation ties in this sector, the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry has said in a press release.
Under the protocol’s provisions, the bilateral transports of goods, as well as the transit ones will be maintained in liberalized regime, without transport authorizations, which will develop the road transport, exchange of goods and will facilitate the travels by people from both states.
At present, the bilateral relations in the international road transport of passengers and goods between Moldova and Turkey are established based on the inter-governmental agreement, signed in Chisinau in 1994. The accord sees that the goods transport in the bilateral regime, transit and to/from third countries is carried out on the basis of authorizations.
