Moldovan SP launches initiative to create trilateral platform for info exchange, fight against hybrid threats

Chisinau, 06 October /MOLDPRES/ – Parliament Speaker, Andrian Candu, launched the initiative to create a trilateral platform for exchange of information and the fight against hybrid threats between Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine at the first meeting of the Interparliamentary Assembly MD – GE – UA, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
According to Andrian Candu, each state could create inter – institutional contact points to make strategic analysis and exchange relevant data between the three states. He specified upon the need for a competent analysis and symmetrical reactions to ensure info security in the area.
The Speaker of Parliament of Moldova and his counterparts from Georgia and Ukraine were unanimous in the need for prompt and effective responses to hybrid threats. "The disinfo campaigns, by massive use of social networks, propaganda exploit the vulnerabilities of states and hit fundamental democratic values and liberties. The hybrid threats also target the financial system, public healthcare, food security, energy, infrastructure, etc. There are needed coordinated and competent measures for an effective response," said Moldovan SP.
We remind that the intention to establish a Strategic Coordination Centre (CSC) for Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine was presented to the State Department and the US National Security Council during the recent visit of Andrian Candu to Washington.
