Three persons die within deflagration of residential building of Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 07 October /MOLDPRES/ – Three persons died and some others have been traumatised and hospitalised after a deflagration in a residential building in Chisinau municipality. The tragedy occurred on 06 October evening. Under these circumstances, PM Pavel Filip, convened today the meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE), while the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) established a crisis cell.
The explosion affected flats on the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th floors. There have been involved 16 special technicians and around 100 employees of IGSU in the intervention. According to IGSU's information and media communication service, the 112 call was received at 22:42.
On the 14th floor of the block – of – flats, the rescuers and firefighters detected 02 bodies, including the inanimate body of a minor. Six other persons were hospitalised with various traumas, including an IGSU employee. One of the six traumatised persons died at the hospital. It is a 77-year-old man. All the persons of the block were evacuated. According to the recent info, the fire brigade is in a stable condition with slight contusions and injuries.
The law enforcement bodies work to determine the circumstances of deflagration. The IGSU psychologist's group is trained to provide psychological assistance to victims. The rescuers and firefighters perform unlocking and search work inside of the building. The IGSU has not specified the cause of deflagration.
