Moldovan PM says at place of deflagration: Government to allocate MDL 50,000 to families of deceased

Chisinau, 07 October /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip went to the place where the explosion occurred on 06 October and provided the tenants with all the necessary support from the Government. "We are next to you in these moments of hard trial. We understand the pain you are going throughout. The families in which there are deceased ones will get MDL 50,000 – aid from the Government. Also, we will compensate for the losses of the tenants, whose apartments have been destroyed and who have lost all that gained within their lives," said Pavel Filip.

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, so as to settle the problems of the people who suffered from the deflagration, a special tent, where the General Staff is located, was installed in the courtyard of the block. It provides the necessary consultations and assistance to the locals, including the free, on-the-spot clearance of identity documents destroyed. The persons who have left home will be temporarily accommodated at the Railroad Hospital and sanatorium Constructor.

The special teams are now cleaning the explosion site, after which the status of the thermal and electrical networks will be checked. Alongside, the technical expertise of the block and of the apartments will be carried out. "The number one priority is people: tenants, firefighters, rescuers. Their safety is the most important for us," said Pavel Filip.

Once it is confirmed that the condition of the building is not dangerous, the apartment owners, which have not been affected by explosion, will be able to enter their flats. Subsequently, the construction teams will begin the rehabilitation works for apartments destroyed by deflagration. The PM has asked the officials to keep persons informed about how the situation is evolving.

The explosion took place on the evening of Saturday, 06 October, in a block of flats on boulevard Moscova, 11/5 in Chisinau municipality. According to info from the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, following the deflagration, 3 persons died, 2 more: a blocker and a fireman are at the hospital.
