Chisinau city hall to provide 10 million lei to repair block affected by explosion

Chisinau, 8 October /MOLDPRES/- The Chisinau city hall will provide 10 million lei for the repair works at the residential block in the capital, where two days ago a deflagration occurred. Acting mayor of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu made the statement today.

The official announced the modification of a decision of the Chisinau Municipal Council and the purchase of several houses for maneuver. "These homes would offer the opportunity to act in such tragedies and provide apartments to people who need emergency accommodation. At the same time, the 10 million lei granted from the reserve fund will be meant for the repair works of the affected apartments ", he said.

He noted that today the law enforcement authorities are to take evidence, and the employees of the State Construction Inspection will check the building to assess its damage.

"Exact costs can only be estimated from technical expertise. We're going to evaluate the condition of the apartments. We do not know exactly how much work they will need, but six apartments are destroyed. The lifts were also affected and they will be repaired by Elevator Service company.

Later, we will create sector commissions to discuss with citizens the consequences of holding gas cylinders, use of which is forbidden," he said.

Following the explosion two days ago in a block of flats in Riscani district of the capital, three people have lost their lives. The government announced it would allocate 50,000 lei to the families of the deceased.
