Blue Air company's representatives present plans on development of Air Moldova

Chisinau, 8 October /MOLDPRES/ - Representatives of the Romanian air company Blue Air and of the Moldovan company Air Moldova presented the plans of the new management and of the investors for the development of the Moldovan operator in Chisinau today.
Blue Air General Director Marius Puiu has said that the new investors wanted to increase the fleet of Air Moldova, number of routes operated and to provide services at high standards and at accessible prices. Marius Puiu informed that the profile, name and identify of Air Moldova would not change and its debts would be paid in a period of 3-4 months.
The director of the company Civil Aviation Group, Dzintars Pomers, noted that the new owners would have to renew the park of aircrafts. According to Pomers, the number of aircrafts, as well as the number of employees is to be doubled on the next three years. Also, the geography of destinations is to be extended too, including through the opening of new flights, both to the West and to the East.
According to Director General of Air Moldova Iulian Scorpan, the company starts a new stage of development and its representatives are set to provide passengers with safety, conform and quality of services.
One week ago, the Public Property Agency informed that Air Moldova had been bought by the Romanian company Civil Aviation Group SRL (Ltd). This company was founded by a group of investors, with the biggest share held by Blue Air. The value of the selling-purchase transaction exceeds 1.2 billion lei, of which 50 million lei was transferred to the state budget; the rest of the sum represents the debts of the Air Moldova company, which the investor committed to pay off. Blue Air has more than 1,500 employees and 30 aircrafts.
