Moldovan deputy premier meets Romanian counterpart

Chisinau, 9 October /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Lesnic had a working meeting with Deputy Prime Minister for Romania's Strategic Partnerships' Implementation Ana Birchall in Bucharest on 8 October.
According to the Bureau for Reintegration, the meeting fits into the visit’s agenda, aiming at setting an interactive intergovernmental dialogue platform on multiple issues of common interest.
During the talks, the deputy premiers approached relevant issues from the perspective of the Moldovan-Romanian relations, and appreciated the consistent contribution to the development of the sectoral cooperation, as well as exchanged views about the prospects of enhancing partnerships.
Lesnic approached the activities carried out in the Transnistrian issue, dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol, commitments to negotiations, implementation of agreements, active role of the Moldovan side and significant results achieved during the year due to maintaining an unprecedented intensity of the interaction in all negotiation platforms and the continuous improvement of the performance and quality of expertise of specialists from Chisinau.
At the same time, Lesnic noted the developments in the so-called Berlin plus package, the Latin-script schools in the Transnistrian region and the recently launched mechanism for the international road traffic in the eastern districts of country.
Lesnic pointed out that Moldova is open and expresses its gratitude for bilateral dialogue.
The Romanian counterpart showed a particular interest in the Transnistrian issue and stated that the government of Romania is always willing to provide the necessary assistance to constructively support the achievement of Moldova's regulatory and reintegration goals.
At the end of the meeting, the officials noted the need to continue communicating on issues of mutual interest and the indispensability of effective cooperation for the benefit of citizens on both banks of the Prut.
