Romania is open to further support wishes of government of Chisinau

Chisinau, 9 October /MOLDPRES/- During the official visit to Bucharest, Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Lesnic had a working meeting with State Secretary for the liaisons with Eastern neighbourhood and multilateral relations at global level Dan Neculăescu on 8 October, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.

The topics focused on several issues on the bilateral agenda and European integration, commitments by Moldova, achievements recorded in implementation, priorities for the next period, governmental achievements in institutional reform and improvement of living standard of the population.

As regards the Transnistrian issue, the officials approached the current situation in negotiations, the dynamics of the 5 + 2, 1 + 1 formats and sectoral working groups, the issues of the so-called Berlin plus package and the mechanisms identified to address them, describing the degree of implementation of these mechanisms and subsequent measures due to be taken to solve all historical records, such as the farmers in Dubasari district and Latin-script schools in the Transnistrian region.

Also, the sides reviewed the efforts made by the Moldovan authorities at the international level to ensure respect for and restoration of fundamental human rights in the eastern districts of the country.

Lesnic thanked for the continued support given by the Romanian authorities, contributing to the support of the pan-European path and the regulatory process, and voiced hope to strengthen the cooperation on the whole spectrum of topics of mutual interest.

The Romanian diplomat noted that Romania is always open to support the fulfillment of the primary aspirations assumed by the government of Chisinau and to provide the necessary assistance in this respect.
