Chisinau, 9 October /MOLDPRES/- In homes where gas cylinders are used, special detectors will be installed free of charge to report possible leakage. The leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova, Vlad Plahotniuc, made the statement today.
The topic of deflagration in Rascani district was discussed today.
"We discussed at a weekly meeting about the tragedy that took place on Saturday night in a block of flats, and we analyzed what we should do to prevent such situation. As people are panicked today, they are also afraid of neighbours exploiting gas cylinders in their homes, so we have to find solutions for them to find safety and peace. We have proposed that every dwelling in which gas cylinders are operated should be equipped with gas detectors which immediately alert any leakage,” he said.
He added that the government will soon acquire the devices and will distribute them free to the people so that they do not have any extra expenses.
An explosion occurred on Saturday evening, 6 October, in a residential building in the Riscani district of the capital.
