Chisinau, 12 October /MOLDPRES/- The law on local public finance, with all amendments made so far, was republished in the Official Journal of Moldova today.

The law comprises provisions regarding the structure of local budgets, development, approval and enforcement.

Under the document, local budgets are independent elements that are developed, approved and executed under financial autonomy.

The draft annual budget decision is proposed to be reviewed by 20 November, and by 10 December it is to be approved by the authorities. If the annual budgetary decision has not been adopted at least three days before the end of the budget year, the budget administrator shall issue the provision on the implementation of the provisional budget, which shall be set and implemented in accordance with the provisions of the previous year's budgetary decision.

The Law on local public finance was adopted by parliament on 16 October 2003.
